The agency was founded in the late 1950s by Luigi Compagnoni, a pioneer of the funeral industry in the mountainous areas of Alta Valtellina. A skilled carpenter, he introduced hearse services to the upper valley, replacing horse-drawn carriages. The Compagnoni family boasted a keen interest in their profession: his wife, Sara Giacomelli, was a midwife in the Bormio area. In short, a family dedicated to serving the community from birth to death.
In 1992, the business was taken over by his son Francesco Compagnoni, who is supported on a permanent basis by his son Matteo Compagnoni. Today, Matteo, the current owner, is supported by his sister Francesca and a young, experienced team, ready to best meet the needs of the community. The company employs attentive and caring undertakers. Over the years, we have achieved significant results in the preparation of remains and thanatocosmetics, earning us an excellent reputation throughout the Alta Valtellina region.
